Judy Heumann, "the Mother" of Disability Rights Passed Away on Saturday

Judy Heumann, who was detrimental to secure legislation protecting the rights of people with disabilities, has died on Saturday March 4, in Washington D.C., at age 75. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

We are deeply saddened by her passing and will continue to work toward implementing the "spirit" of the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA). There is still a long way to go and Judy Heumann has paved the path so incredibly well.

She was considered the "mother" of disability rights and was a figure for anyone to look up to, and learn on how to live a full life despite of adversities in the service of a greater purpose.
